Book Review: Overthrow

Review of “Overthrow” by Stephen Kinzer

Little more than a century we have overthrown fourteen governments. Let us start with Hawaii and take it up to Iraq. This list doesn’t include some actions by our government which are very suspicious like the Congo and Patric Lumamba.

Stephen Kinzer, a celebrated correspondent of the NYTimes and the Boston Globe lays out our history of questionable acts of regime change, a polite term for overthrow. This book, as all of his many tomes, is very thoroughly documented and indexed.

You will be fascinated, educated and probably repulsed at the same time. If you want a good factual background with super readability it is here.
