So many of my friends simply zone out these days. The news is so bad. Everyday some new atrocity is reported frequently from a new area. Fear has become the dominating mantra of our government which is following the clarion call of the “war on terror”.

We recognize that Osama bin Laden’s group have with a small investment succeeded in creating a vast disruption of our lives, treasure and society. Their act on 9/11 has allowed sweeping changes to our feelings of security.

One has to suppose that the politicians espousing this fear are acting in good faith for our protection. In pursuit of security honored tenets of freedom are being infringed upon to an extent never done before.
