NYT Editorial: Citizen Terrorists Deleted [Must-Read]

"The homeland security mania has invited some startling abuses of police power, but we have yet to hear of any more knuckle-headed than one in Maryland. There, the State Police are sheepishly tracking down 53 innocent people to let them know they were entered as suspected terrorists on state and federal databases — for the Orwellian offense of engaging in peaceful protest."

NYT Op-Eds (4)

"The next president will likely have to deal with some major financial emergencies. Barack Obama seems well informed. John McCain, on the other hand, scares me" (Krugman); "The only chance John McCain has to win the presidential election is if he overrules those of his aides who are trapped by conventional wisdom" (Kristol); "If Pakistan is the most dangerous country on earth, then Asif Ali Zardari has taken one of the world’s least enviable posts as president" (Cohen); "Sanctions have not kept Iran from developing its nuclear program. The next U.S. president must do better to convince the mullahs that they are better off without it" (Guest Op-Ed)

NYT: 7 Years Later, 9/11 Hijackers’ Remains Are in Limbo

"Seven years after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, the remains of 13 of the 19 men responsible have been identified and are in the custody of the F.B.I. and the New York City medical examiner’s office." Two questions come to mind. First, how is it that there are remains of the "terrorists" who allegedly flew a plane into the Pentagon, when even the plane's titanium engines disintegrated? Second, 13 of 19 leaves six "hijackers" unaccounted for. Is it possible then that the alternative theorists are correct that the remaining six are alive and well in their respective countries?
