    now if George had said “…..can deteriorate accordingly”, I would have gone along with him.
    Happily in the UK, that is not the present situation.
    As for the security measures in question. Who knows whether they are as necessary and specific as this article makes out.
    In the UK, the government’s security proposals (particularly in respect of how long a person could be held without charge) were draconian. Maybe in the States they are less so. Maybe.
