What a bunch of hogwash. The superdelegate system was put in place for a good reason, which we happen to be seeing this year: that DESPITE having the voters vote, they simply could not make a clear and convincing choice between two candidates. Thus, the superdelegate system does not take voting out of the hands of the voters – who will have had their say over a period of many months – but provides a mechanism for dealing with the circumstances we are seeing now. [N.B. See the NYT Guest Op-Ed posted on 2/15.]
Thus, it is simply dishonest to suggest that Clinton is somehow trying to use the superdelegate system to thwart the voters. Indeed, if ANYONE is using the system, it is Obama. Because he has actually given THREE TIMES AS MUCH MONEY to HIS superdelegates as Hillary has to hers. To date, Obama has given $694,000 to 40% of his superdelegates. Hillary has given $195,500 to 12% of hers. So who, exactly, is trying to “game the system?â€
It is truly sickening to watch how both the mainstream and alternative media have become unapologetic, unrepentant Hillary-bashers as they continue to give Obama a free pass on virtually EVERYTHING. For example, when it came out the Hillary had taken money from Hsu, it was front-page news for a week, even though Hillary returned the money right away. Yet when it was revealed that Rezko had given Obama tens of thousands of dollars (which Obama also offloaded quickly) – after Obama had claimed, publicly, during a debate, that his ONLY connection with Rezko was “5 hours†or time spent on “one case†as a “junior attorney†– it barely made the papers AT ALL! It will be interesting to watch what happens when the Rezko trial starts in March: Obama could be in for a VERY bad time.
