One Response to “The Torch Is Passed”

Oh, please. Get real. “The torch” has been sputtering for years.

Obama supposedly represents “change” – yet he values the endorsement of one of the most entrenched, insider senators in Congress? And TK is NOT what he used to be.

For example, like Obama, despite initially opposing the invasion of Iraq (and the resolution allowing Bush to use force), TK went on to vote “Yes” on EVERY bill that continued funding the war; even Obama and Hillary, who voted identically on every such bill, did not vote “Yes” on all of them.

As well, all three (BO, HC, TK) voted twice to re-authorize the Patriot Act, and TK is among the most full-throated supporters of the Real ID Act (i.e., national ID card) in all of Congress (HC voted Yes on that bill; BO was a no-show for the vote).

How is all of this “change?” And how does it fit with Obama’s claims to “principle” re the war in Iraq and civil liberties?

As for Caroline, let’s not forget that JFK (who certainly did a few good things) was responsible for the Bay of Pigs, the escalation of the growing Vietnam crisis, possible (even likely) ties to organized crime, and more extra-marital dalliances than Bill Clinton. In fact, it was not JFK who was “inspirational” (i.e., getting young people involved in the political process) but his brother, Bobby.

I am almost literally speechless that people STILL cannot see that, as far as Obama is concerned, “the emperor has no clothes” (or, at least, only what he needs to protect himself from the elements…).

The intoxicating fumes of rhetoric are leaving an awful lot of people brain-dead.

    Peace.
