Scarier than bin Laden

The rise of the “New al-Qaeda Central”, the core group in control of policy and planning, seems to the work of the United States’ most formidable nemesis – not bin Laden, who has been forced into hiding and a kind of semi-retirement – but his nominal deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri. Zawahiri has taken control of al-Qaeda. He has not only revived the movement’s fortunes but has also made it once again a global threat, poised to strike the United States, as depicted in the National Intelligence Estimate released in July…BS
