Karl Inderfurth served as Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian Affairs during the Clinton administration, from 1997 to 2001. He is currently a professor at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University. Following Afghan president Hamid Karzai’s Camp David summit meeting earlier this week, he lays out a plan to strengthen central government; kick-start the Afghan economy with infrastructure-related jobs; and to engage both Iran and Pakistan, Afghanistan’s neighbors, in the process…BS
