Sarkozy’s dangerous strenths

France has a new President, Nicolas Sarkozy, who is refreshingly willing to take on politically incorrect topics like endemic crime in immigrant neighborhoods – but his personal charisma, force of will and forcefully stated opinions may work against him. His victory does not guarantee that the French will follow him as he seeks far-reaching labor and tax reforms. If he is to bring those concepts into action, he must win a parliamentary majority for his neo-Gaullist party in elections next month and by working to overcome the bitterness and fear this campaign produced…BS
