Farewell to TARP – FT
TARP pissed off the conservatives because it symbolized for them a massive outreach of government intervention and the progressives because the main beneficiaries were the wretches on Wall St, who yet again gamed the system, but in fact it probably saved the US and hence the world economies from implosion.
I think that history will be kinder to it than contemporary opinion might suggest.
