One Response to “God did not create the universe, says Hawking”

  1. Ian Alterman said:

Acutally, that is NOT what Hawking said. What he claims is that it was not NECESSARY for there to be a God to have created the universe.

However, even this premise is hopelessly weak, even by Hawking’s own scientific standards, since he is still claiming the universe ex nihilo (“something from nothing”), and that gravity alone would have been enough to create the universe. But he voids discussing what existed prior to the Big Bang, which is what gravity “worked on” to create the universe as we know it.
