A plea for peace, eloquent and sweeping. Carroll views the Bush administration’s glorification of war through the lens of Cain’s murder of Abel. Now, having led the world into the wilderness of violence, America has the moral responsibility to lead the world out of it. We have to stop killing other people’s children. Period.
