I cannot bring myself to steal James Carroll’s loud and convincing thunder on this one. Just read the article and tell me what you think. Savor the words, I urge you, because this essay is masterfully written by an experienced columnist and former war correspondent who has lived all over the globe, often with explosions overhead.
