Now the Decider Must Listen

In Eugene Robinson’s words, short of an actual armed insurrection, the voters couldn’t have given the admninstration a clearer message of what they think of his governing and of the war in Iraq. After each of their razor thin victories, Bush et al governed as if they had a landslide’s worth of strong mandate and endless political capital, neglecting the center at their own expense, setting themselves up for an old fashioned whuppin’ via their own corruption, greed, in-your-face lies and above all hubris. Now the hard questions must be answered about the tragic mess in Iraq. I won’t steal any more of the thunder in this far-reaching but elegantly brief piece of political thinking…BS
