Another piece on Rumsfeld’s departure. This one looks at the many meanings of the timing of the announcement, clearly coinciding and perhaps triggered by the (WHOOPEE!!!!) Democratic take-over of control of at least the House of Representatives. Perhaps later today (if George Allen concedes defeat in Virginia), the Democrats will control BOTH Houses of Congress. Then the hard work of governing begins, and some very hard and very overdue new thinking will be done on Iraq and how to disengage there…BS
