DVD Review: REDS
Last night Tom and I went to see the opening of a 25 year celebration of REDS. This seminal film by Warren Beatty stars Diane Keaton (HAIR alumnus) and Jack Nicholson. Besides knowing the principals, I knew Jerzy Kosinski (the renown author of “Being There”-another story) plays a major role for a non-actor. I taught him how to play polo. Also interesting was to to hear many stories from friend Dick Sylbert (the Designer) about the trials and tribulations making REDS. So you can surmize that I went again with great personal interest.
A great, great film it is. You will be blown away by its sheer genius. Also receive some deep lessons as to what happened during the Russian Revolution. The good news is that the DVD is going to be released any day. I have ordered one.

a great film .. loved the early Greenwich Village scenes, Emma Goldman – also a good primer on how the left tends towards disfunction
