From the Op-Ed page of today’s Boston Globe, a haunting collage of quotes from a wide range of people – from the famous to the bereived, much of it painfully poignant. Excellent – in fact, this is the best single 9/11/01 remembrance piece of the many I have read this week, and I think that is because it makes no attempt to interpret. Instead, it lets the quotes do the talking, mounted like pieces of stained glass in a window. Each of the short passages is like a poem, ranging from loving sacred memory through sharp-edged rage. It leaves the reader in a state of contemplative mourning, mild shock and true deja vu….BS
