Norman Solomon on Our History with Iran

http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/090106B.shtml

MB posted a piece by Norman Solomon the other day and I was very happy to discover a new writer to add to my faves (Naomi Klein, Chomsky) who eloquenetly addresses the rottenness at the core of our government, media, institutions. Not that we’re unique in our transgressions …just the latest bully on the block of the West, of hyper capitalism (slowly fading). In this new piece Solomon gets into our history with Iran – a history of which nary a NYT editorial or TV pundit ever speaks – when in the 1950’s Kermit Roosevelt and the CIA overthrew Iran’s democratically elected leader Mohammed Mossadegh and the years of torture and repression under the Shah in the years that followed. Enjoy.
