What kind of man would shoot a defenseless animal from a low flying airplane while the animal ran for its life?
IF you cannot donate to Defenders to help STOP these killings please read this and write letters of protest. Thank you.

Dear Barbara,
From November 2005 to May 2006, more than 150 Alaskan wolveswere killedby the brutal practice of aerial gunning. But with your help we can savewolves in Alaska.
Help us stop this senseless aerial slaughter! Please make a tax-deductible donation now to help support our Campaign to Save America’s Wolves.
Easy targets against the fallen snow, wolves are gunned down from airplanes or chased to exhaustion, then shot at point blank range. State-licensed marksmen can target entire packs — even pregnant mothers!
Aerial gunners have killed more than550 wolves over the past three winters. Worse, hundreds more wolves could be killed under management plans approved by the Alaska Board of Game in May.
Thats not wolf management. Its a wolf massacre.
Help support our work to endthe killing — Please make a tax-deductible donation online now.
Wolves help the overall health of natural ecosystems. They help keep Alaska’s moose and caribou populations healthy and strong. Wolves are also important to Alaska’s billion-dollar tourism industry.
Yet the state continues to allow aerial gunning. In fact, the Board of Games new proposals would expand the areas where aerial gunning is permitted, allow gunners on snow machines to harass and kill wolves and expand aerial gunning of bears.
Defenders of Wildlife has launched an all-out campaign to end this brutal practice. Heres what were going to do
Take it to the People. Were encouraging our Alaskan members and supporters to sign a petition being circulated by Alaskans for Wildlife, a group trying tobring aerial gunning before Alaskan voters.Alaskans for Wildlifes signature gatherers are close to obtaining the more than 31,000 signatures needed to add the issue to the statewide ballot. Airborne wolf-killing by private pilots has twice been voted down by Alaskans.
Take it to Congress. Were meeting with Members of Congress to make it abundantly clear that the federal Airborne Hunting Act prevents states such as Alaska from allowing aerial gunning under the guise of ensuring high moose and other game populations.
Take it to the Courts. Alaska should obey the law without being sued, but Defenders expert legal team is prepared to challenge Alaskas aerial gunning program in the courts.
I am confident that we can end Alaskas barbaric aerial gunning practice, but I know were going to need your help to do it.
