    The Constitutional statute against a “religious test” for office was established solely to prevent any “official” test for running or holding office. It was NOT estabished to prevent voters from including religion as among the factors they might use to decide who to vote for.

    While you and I may agree that doing so is wrong, I believe that the cliche that the “founding fathers” would be “rolling in their graves” is wrong.
