Barack’s pledge to bring back the troops from Iraq within sixteen months of being elected may or may not be something that he would be held to, but that is hardly the point. Merely saying it was a huge blunder which seeds serious doubts as to his Presidential capabilities.
The insurgents would be well aware that should he be elected, they are fighting an enemy who is on a specific time schedule, thus placing US troops and their allies at a severe strategic disadvantage and great risk.
Many, many lives and a Nation’s future can be lost on the back of such a statement.
