This and the following article concerning Barack’s forign policy advisor show the direction in which the press is heading.
Forget actual issues, lets see if we can smear by association.
Does anyone actually see Hillary as a neo-con or Barack as a Russian hater?
This is one of the problems with a nomination campaign that goes on and on. There has got to be a better way of electing the Democratic candidate, and the sooner there is a root and branch sort out of the system, the better.

    Ben:

As I noted in another response, this is such a load, and simply an attempt at a tit-for-tat re the Wright issue. Coe has never said anything even CLOSE to the incendiary things Wright has said; Hillary has not been a member of the Fellowship for 20 years; Coe has not been her “spiritual advisor” for 20 years; and Coe is not “like family” to Hillary as Wright is to Obama.

In addition, the idea that it is somehow “nefarious” or “sinister” that Hillary happens to learn and pray together with (ohmygod!) Republicans is beyond silly.

Nor has Hillary EVER shown even the SLIGHTEST inclination toward fundamentalism, evanglicalism or “Christian Right” thinking.

This has got to be the most non-issue non-story story I have read this year.

Re the ZB article (which I posted), that is a more legitimate issue. Obama may or may not be a “Russian hater.” But who a person chooses as their top advisors DOES make a difference: indeed, both stories do speak to the adage that we are known by the company we keep. The difference is that Coe is FAR more removed (particularly physically and politically) from Hillary than ZB is from Obama.

In this regard, ZB’s involvement in the Akhmadov affair (among other questionable political policies he has held and/or holds) IS a relevant concern.

    Peace.

I am reminded of Shakespeare’s Henry V, and even of my own ‘colorful’ associates. Are we to judge a person by what he is, or who he knows? I grant you, ZB’s advisory status is concerning. Let us hear what Barack has to say about it.
