And a good and appropriate strategy it is. Because it is true that there are problems “waiting” for the next president, and that the world has become an increasingly dangerous place, especially vis-a-vis Islamic terrorism. In this regard, a president MUST come from a position of strength, though tempered by reality and, hopefully, humility.

Hillary may have her faults. So do all politicians. Obama is not angel. Neither is Edwards. Indeed, I would take Edwards over Obama any day, given how many missteps Obama has made over the past couple of months.

The problem with the left media is that they see EVERYTHING as nefarious, sinister or otherwise duplicitous. However, “experience” IS an issue here. And Hillary and Edwards have more of it than Obama does. A fresh face and “change” CAN be a good thing. But I am not convinced that now is the time for it in any critical regard.

The two most important issues facing the new president will be getting out of Iraq and restoring the freedoms, civil liberties and privacy that have been eroded over the past seven years. And while NONE of the candidates is really talking about the latter, I do not see Obama as any readier to undo Bush’s executive orders, signing statements, etc. than Hillary. Indeed, in this regard, I think Edwards is ultimately most likely to address it.

Still, to lambaste Hillary because she is being honest – yes, honest – about the present situation is one of the “left” tactics that I cannot support.

    Peace.
