    What Scahill strangely fails to mention is what Naomi Wolf noted in her 10/2007 speech, which is that Blackwater already has contracts with the U.S. govertnment that allow it to “assist” government forces (i.e., National Guard et al) during “major disasters and emergencies.” And while it is true that Blackwater was “on the ground” in LA after Katrina, the fact that a paramilitary group is being permitted to work alongside government personnel sets a truly dangerous precedent.
