NYT: Iran’s President Criticizes Bush in Letter to American People

Although I dislike this man’s anti-Semitism, there is much truth in his letter. One specific comment. According to the article:
“The letter…employed an inferential, Iranian style of communication that experts say is likely to leave Americans cold…’People are simply not used to being talked to this way.'”
What way is that? Truthfully? Directly? Yup, we are so used to being talked down to, condescended to, lied to, spun to, etc. that it is true that we are “not used to being talked to” directly.
