NYT: Carlyle to Lead Investors in Bid for Chip Packager
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/25/technology/25chip.html?pagewanted=print
Part of my “keeping an eye on The Carlyle Group” series. The microchip move has “new world order” (and worse) implications. After all, there is a move (however stealthy and small at the moment) toward “tracking” and/or “buying” chips implanted into the skin. We already see “tracking” chips in pets, and now even infants and children (re abductions). And RFID technology (tracking consumer products and sales, etc.) is growing, especially in Europe. The “marriage” of these two technologies is where we are headed. And Carlyle will be well-positioned to reap the profits, which means it will also have a vested interest in “selling” the idea.
Yes, it is admittedly a stretch from Carlyle being interested in buying a microchip packaging firm and everyone getting “the mark of the beast” (LOL…or maybe not…) But stranger things have happened…
