Go read the whole thing … this one part stands out

HERSH: [Cheney] made the point that in case the Democrats won both the house and senate – he told a long rambling anecdote about his life as an [electrical wire] lineman in Wyoming – they were laying copper wire which was expensive and if the wire had pieces over three feet in length they had to turn it into headquarters and write it up. So what they would do is they would cut the pieces into two lengths and throw them away, because they were under the three-foot limit.

And he said if the Democrats win the worry that was expressed by Cheney was if they pass a series of amendments that say if you’re going to [do something in] Iran, you must tell us what you’re doing in advance [about any] overt and covert plans. [Cheney] talked about the Boland Amendment [which told] the Reagan Administration they could not do anything to overthrow the Sandinista government of Nicaragua [and] led the White House to secretly raise money for the contras by selling arms to Iran. Cheney was around for that – Elliot Abrams, who is now a big player in the White House was indicted for it – lying to congress, withholding information – and pleaded guilty. So you have a situation where in case [the elections] went as bad as it went, [Cheney] was saying don’t worry about it, we’ve got it covered.

These dudes just don’t give a shit.
