NYT Op-Ed (Friedman): The Taxi Driver
http://select.nytimes.com/2006/11/01/opinion/01friedman.html?pagewanted=print
Freidman relates his interaction – or lack thereof – with a cab driver in Paris, and says, “technology is dividing us more than uniting us,” and quotes a technologist as saying, “We’re so accessible, we’re inaccessible. We can’t find the off switch on our devices or on ourselves.”
I totally agree, and, coincidentally, have been having this very discussion with three different people, all unsolicited and separate.
