Mike Malloy is one of the best radio voices on the left and had the night slot on Air America after Janeane Garofalo and Sam Seder’s show. I suspect that the reason for his dismissal was that he had two 911 Truth activists on his show recently for hour-long segments – David Ray Griffin and Webster Tarpley. I’m not a fan of Tarpley – I’ve heard him speak and he’s kind of a loose cannon and not the best spokeperson for the 911 Truth movement. Griffin on the other hand is a respected professor at Claremont College in California and is the author of the widely cited book “A New Pearl Harbor” that is the bible of 911 Truth seekers.

I suspect media accounts will focus more on Tarpley as a looney tune blah blah.. The bigger issue I think is that Malloy was one of the first in the major left media (Air America, Democracy Now, Mother Jones etc) to actually cover the 911 Truth movement and give them a voice. I’m sure the people at Air America got call from some of their advertisers – not surprising but indicative of things to come as this issue gets more play…it won’t be pretty to watch.
