Now, this sounds extraordinary, this Sunday afternoon and night, just a
few blocks, actually, from where we were the other evening.

Downtown Artists Offer 10-Hour Marathon Hurricane Relief Benefit
NY LOVES NOLA
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 18

Due to overwhelming response from the artists community The Culture
Project has joined the NY LOVES NOLA benefit on September 18th as a
performance venue. The benefit now boasts 60 acts performing in a 10
hour marathon. New additions to the performance roster include Sides:
the Fear is Real, Musical of Musicals: The Musical, John Kelly, and
Ellen Foley.

The French Quarter is relocating to Noho for one night only. Spend
tonight in solidarity with your friends from New Orleans and the ravaged
Gulf coast at NY LOVES NOLA, a benefit for the American Red Cross. Your
minimum $25 donation gets you a delicious Cajun buffet at Acme Bar &
Grill, plus access to 10 hours of marathon performance at two
neighboring venues: Ace of Clubs and The Culture Project. The roster of
over 60 acts includes Charles Busch, John Cameron Mitchell, Kevin
Aviance, Penny Arcade, Madame, Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, Creation
Nation, Lisa Jackson, Meat, Carmelita Tropicana, Elephant Larry, Melissa
Rauch, the Duelling Bankheads, David Gurland, a reading of Tennessee
Williams' short play "Auto-Da-Fe" by NeoNeo Theater, a new short play
created for the event by Lizzie Simon, plus the casts of "Joy," NYMTF's
"Rooms," and FringeNYC's "Fleet Week." There is something for everyone:
rock, musical theater, pop, cabaret, burlesque, dance, drama, comedy,
drag, circus acts, magic, puppetry, performance art and more. The
generous folks at these venues are even donating all the profits from
the bar to the cause. Tonight head for one big hangover that you can be
proud of --- and help ease the headaches faced by our friends down
South.
