I listen to George M Cohan music
but not the musical qua musical named George M which beat Hair for the Tony
and is never performed
Not a noteworthy or memorable show
One of the great travesties in tony history was Hair not winning
because everyone was scared shitless of it

in my opinion also why theyve never let steven schwartz win ever
because also  there is a crusty element who will never forgive Hair and
secondarily Schwartz for bringing rock and roll and in the case of Schwartz
soft rock to bdwy

this is what i think
also katie we are the vast vast exceptions

i listen to opera i am devoted and madly in love with opera

but even people my age me 47 dont listen to opera
they listen to rock and roll
and the young people listen to hip hop
and thats the deal
im a classicist myself
read dostoyevsky and aeschylus and sartre and genet and ibsen

but more people are into " 50 cent " the rapper
