Get yourself an IRC client, first of all. Just so you all know...IRC is one of
the "standard" Internet services, right there along with e-mail, web, Usenet,
telnet, and FTP; sadly, it's very underused right now thanks to web-based chat
rooms that many people CAN'T use due to incompatibility, firewalls, etc.

You just have to make sure that everybody who wants to chat is on the same IRC
server -- you can configure the client for that.

Then you'd need to enter a "channel," or as users of AOL and other fake Internet
providers call, "chat room." all you need to do in the IRC program to enter a
channel is type "/join #flirzelkwerp", where "flirzelkwerp" is the name of the
channel you want to join. For example, let's say you want to have an IRC
channel named after this mailing list...you'd enter "/join #mb-hair". If the
channel doesn't exist, it's created when you join it. Then you wait for others
to join. :)
