As a fellow NYer, I'm sure that you, like me, have had the privilege of actually seeing these incredible creatures. Indeed, there is a man who sets up a high-powered, long-range telescope in Central Park (near the Boat Pond), and he allows anyone who wants to to view these amazing birds. The male has flown over us a few times, as close as perhaps 100 feet. When one sees nature in action like this - "close up and personal" - it increases one's respect for all living things.

BTW, the board member who fought back in strong support of the hawks and their nest was Mary Tyler Moore....

Peace.

As New Yorkers were about to be wrapped in a balmy coat of springlike warmth, the sight of Lola and Pale Male could not have been more welcome.

Nick Naylor, chief spokesman for Big Tobacco, makes his living defending the rights of smokers and cigarette makers in today's neo-puritanical culture. Confronted by health zealots and an opportunistic senator, Nick goes on a PR offensive, spinning away the dangers of cigarettes.
