Dear CIVIC compatriots,

After reading Michael's blog report on "We All Have The Same Problem," 
I am moved to remind us all that there are a few investigative 
journalists in the U.S. today who are risking their lives to bring us 
the truth. Check out www.motherjones.com/  and read what their intrepid 
journalists are after and are uncovering. A financial gift to this 
group is a gift for keeping truth alive, since it costs money to 
investigate and this outfit is not supported by big guns of any kind. 
Mother Jones also owns Air America because the managers are serious 
about bringing the truth in to clear the smelly putrid smoke others are 
belching. It's Mother Jones' broadcast, and Al Franken, their main 
host, is under fire right now as conservative Republicans try to get 
him off the air by any means. As Michael reminded us, the plan began 
when we weren't looking. Harper's Magazine editor wrote a long piece at 
least a year ago about how they did it and when. The take-over began in 
the 60s, gaining momentum as the decades advanced, he documented. 
Today, their plan to squelch Liberals has put them in power, but look 
what outrageous and public tactics they had to use to squeak their 
candidates in. (Like what they did to McCain in North Carolina or was 
it South Carolina?) If you're in a funk and downcast about losing the 
United States to totalitarians, thieves, and fascist-leaning, 
closed-minded dimwits, read passages from "The Impossible Will Take A 
Little While," by Paul Rogat Loeb, available at on line bookstores.
