In October 2004, just three weeks before the election, Senator John 
Kerry said Bush was planning a surprise second-term effort to privatize 
Social Security and he forecast a "disaster for America's middle 
class."
White House spokesmen denied it, naturally; "It is just flat 
inaccurate," said GOP chairman Ed Gillespie.
But sadly, now we know the truth.
