Recently, I commented to all of you that The Carlyle Group - in partnership with a new real estate venture, Extell - was buying up swaths of NYC real estate.  I also mentioned that they were building two new buildings in my neighborhood.

This is one of the buildings.  What is particularly ironic - and almost spooky - about this collapse is that just yesterday there was a protest against the two buildings (and Extell and The Carlyle Group) at the precise location of the collapse.

Given our collective love for The Carlyle Group (LOL), I will keep you updated on events here.
