Recently several high level executives at various firms have been sentenced  
and/or personally fined substantial penalties for various unlawful activity  
regarding use of company funds, “cooked books,” and other violations.   These 
convictions have drawn the attention of the President and the 109th  Congress. 
 President Bush is quickly building support for an initiative  based upon his 
highly touted “No Child Left Behind” program.  The new  program, to be 
called, “No Bail Left Denied,” will be made available to major  corporate donors 
to the Republican National Committee as well as select members  of both the 
Senate and the House of Representatives and, on a case by case  basis, past 
Presidents and members of their Cabinet.
 
A RNC spokesperson stated, “The liberal judges in this country have  
traditionally imposed unreasonable bail demands upon members of the business  
establishment, which in our view is yet another way to punish these same  individuals 
for being successful.”  The spokesperson went on to say that,  “Corporate 
donors will be able to request ten percent of their donations sent to  the RNC be 
set aside into a special bail fund that can be used at any time in  the 
future.  While elected officials will be banned from contributing to  the “No Bail 
Left Denied” scheme private donors will be able to make donations  earmarked 
specifically for individual members of Congress who may need bail  assistance.”
 
House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas, is said to be lobbying Congress  
behind the scenes for immediate passage of the “No Bail Left Denied”  
initiative.
