PS Starbucks new deal http://abcnews.go.com/Business/wireStory?id=175226

In 1992 coffee from Columbia use to cost $2.90 a bushel, now it is $0.70 because of the flooding of the market by Indian and Vietnamese lesser quality beans to shops like Starbucks, Kraft, Sara lee, Proctor and Gamble etc.
The Columbian grower of superior coffee beans now gets $0.01 from a $2.00 cup of coffee sold.
Americans are buying the brand/crap not the quality.

In Toronto I buy from a custom roaster Dark City http://www.darkcitycoffee.com/pdf/dark_city_insert.pdf "Real Coffee" by a Master Roaster
and check out the price points, David still makes a good profit. (these are CDN $, as of today the CDN $ is $0.84 American and rising soon to be $0.90 . 2 years ago it was $0.64 to the American dollar. Back in the 60's the CDN was $1.10 to the american $1.00)

Support your local roaster, Fair Trade buyer, and the international coffee farmers will get properly paid, and will not look to growing coca for cocaine.
